2022 in situ Creation
Running time: 25 minutes
Workshops: 30 min
Hakama Calame unfolds from a vision, that of the Aikido Hakama skirt with
seven folds which traces in space the writing of a pointed reed.
- Everything is between black and white -
The choreography in place, this performance opens up perspectives and draws lines from the impetuosity of the world to minimal movement, from restraint to inner silence.
The vibrating soundscape deployed by the gong emphasises this dive into the choreographic momentum.
Its performative set up places the audience in close proximity to the nine performers and offers an immersive dive into the movement, freely inspired by the aesthetics of martial arts.
This new in situ creation pays most attention to the spaces in which it takes place and redraws their limits.
The performance is followed by a special moment with the performers to discuss the selected texts and choreographic writing.
A gong discovery workshop is also offered by the musician and the choreographer is available for interviews.
